Latvijas Finieris

Latvijas Finieris is the largest producer of birch plywood in the Baltic States, established in 1992, but with more than 100 years of experience in plywood production. Today, Latvijas Finieris has developed into an international concern with production facilities in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland, as well as 12 product development and sales companies in Europe and beyond.

Role in the project

Latvijas Finieris' role in the project is to carry out process experiments close to the environment of the plywood production, both in veneer impregnation and in the polymerisation process (WP6). The practical knowledge gained will be used to create prototype products using transparent wood, such as ceiling and wall panels or high-strength plywood coatings (WP 11).
