AIMPLAS

AIMPLAS, Technological Institute of Plastics located in Valencia, is a private, non-profit Association with more than 30 years’ experience in the plastic sector. Our purpose is to add value to companies to generate wealth and create employment, and to add value to society to improve quality of life and ensure environmental sustainability. Our team is made up of more than 250 highly qualified professionals, and we count on more than 12,000 m2 of cutting-edge facilities. We apply our expertise across the entire plastics value chain, from polymer synthesis, raw materials, compounding, manufacturing/processing, end users’ applications and recovery of plastic waste.

Role in the project

In AI-TranspWood, AIMPLAS leads two WPs: WP9, focused on the selection and development of the most promising and suitable monomers, polymers, and chemicals, and WP11 to develop the different demo cases while address the recycling of the transparent wood products. AIMPLAS will also assist the consortium in the process experiments (WP6), in the creation of safe and sustainable by design guidelines for new wood-based composites (WP10) and in the performance of LCA and circularity assessment (WP12). AIMPLAS will finally take part in dissemination, communication, and exploitation activities (WP13, 14 and 15) and in project management (WP16 and WP17).
